Frequently Asked Questions About Event Drapes

Do your event drapes and stage curtains meet fire safety requirements like NFPA 701 or California Title 19?

Yes. Our custom drapes and stage curtains can be made with flame-retardant fabrics that meet NFPA 701, CAN/ULC-S109-14, and California Title 19 requirements. These event drapes are commonly used in venues that require documented fire compliance, and we can provide flame certificates upon request. Whether you’re ordering fabric drapes for wedding installs, trade shows, or ceiling drapes for events, we’ll help you choose a code-compliant solution for your space.

Which fabrics work best for event drapes: IFR velours, poplin, satin, or sheer voile?

The right fabric depends on the look and performance you need. IFR velour is a top choice for stage curtains and event drapes where masking and sound absorption matter. Sheer voile works beautifully for layered wedding drapes and soft, decorative installs. Satin and poplin offer a smooth, elegant finish for drape panels.

What measurements do you need to quote custom fabric drapes?

To quote custom drapes accurately, we’ll need your desired width, finished height, and preferred fabric. It’s also helpful to know how the drapes will be installed, along with any finish details such as pockets or grommets. With that information, we can recommend the right construction and provide a clear, accurate estimate.

Will your drapes work with standard pipe and drape systems?

Yes. Our event drapes and drape panels are designed to work with standard pipe and drape hardware, including common crossbars and uprights. We can produce drapes for pipe and drape systems with the correct pocket or grommet finish for your setup. Whether you’re installing stage curtains, trade show drapes, or wedding backdrops, your custom drapes will integrate seamlessly with existing hardware.

Which drape options are best for blocking light at events or productions?

For maximum light control, we recommend heavyweight options like our IFR Fire Velvet, IFR Velour (15oz or 23oz), or 25oz IFR Charm. These stage curtains are ideal for production environments where controlling ambient light is critical for AV, staging, or presentations. Blackout event drapes help prevent light bleed and create a clean visual backdrop. Depending on your setup, we can recommend the right weight and fullness to ensure your drape panels perform beautifully while maintaining your desired look.
